Diplomasi Brics (Brazil, Rusia, India, China, Afrika Selatan) Dalam Mengurangi Dominasi Dolar Amerika Serikat Tahun 2017-2022

MOCHAMMAD AFIF AZHARI SUTOYO / 1901112579 - Nama Orang;

ABSTRACT
The dominance of the United States dollar (USD) in the global monetary system has become the main concern and objective of the BRICS. USD has dominance in the economies of every country and organization around the world, but there are weaknesses and problems with its dominance. After the 2008 economic crisis, these weaknesses began to be seen, namely the vulnerability to a crisis because it was only backed up by trust without any value, the lack of a developing country's role in the monetary system, and the fact that it was often used as a tool by the United States (US). Since globalization there has been a rise in developing countries, countries that are growing rapidly are grouped into BRICS. The BRICS then formally became a group and sought to reduce USD domination and transform the US-controlled unipolar system into a multipolar system that all countries could play a part in.
In this study, authors use the institutional perspective of neoliberalism, with Diplomacy theory and Summit Diplomacy concept as a basic research reference. The type of research used in this study is qualitative, using descriptive research methods. The data used is to retrieve data from various literature such as books, articles, internet sites, and videos that are considered relevant to the research content.
The results of the study show that BRICS in its efforts to reduce the USD uses two strategies, namely the go-it-alone strategy and the strategy of reforming the status quo. The BRICS's approach to carrying out its strategy is not rash and fast because the country itself has large USD assets. However, the development is real and visible. The BRICS has so far produced many things that can be used to demand USD, including the New Development Bank, Contingent Reserve Arrangement, and the use of local currency as a form of payment.
Keywords: BRICS, Domination, Influence, United States Dollar.
