This research analyzes how Indonesia's efforts to promote tourism through sport tourism events in Indonesia. Indonesia has tourism potential that can attract foreign tourists from various countries. Therefore, the Indonesian government signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and the Ministry of Youth and Sports in developing event sport tourism in Indonesia. Indonesia is making various efforts to increase the number of tourist visits to Indonesia with areas that have tourism potential.
This research uses a qualitative approach, namely a research method that uses descriptive data, with data collection techniques through literature study sourced from several books, journals, articles and official websites. This study uses the perspective of Liberalism, Public Diplomacy theory and the concept of Nation Branding.
The results obtained in the form of Indonesia's efforts to promote tourism through sport tourism are by carrying out cooperation between local governments and several countries. Indonesia has also issued priority sports events in 2021-2023 and is supported by the nation branding of each tourist destination, especially Mandalika. Indonesia is also working to improve tourism infrastructure to support efforts to promote Indonesian tourism.
