Analisa WLAN QoS (Quality of Service) Di Taman Digital Perpustakaan Unri Dan Rekomendasi Peningkatan Kualitas
The purpose of this research is to overcome problems in network speed and signal coverage in the gazebo area of the Riau University library digital park on a wireless network. These problems include weakness in signal strength with an average value of -70.35 dBm and low quality of service in QoS (Quality of Service) standards, namely throughput of 1491.193 Kbps, packet loss of 52.24%, delay of 748.277 ms, and jitter of 749.849 ms. This research aims to find a solution to increase the signal strength and speed of the Wireless LAN network by determining the optimal position for placing access points. The method used is the simulated annealing algorithm with the help of Matlab software, taking into account the QoS quality of service approach. The results showed a significant improvement in signal coverage, with the average signal reaching -50.75 dBm. In addition, the quality of service in low-user conditions also improved, with an average throughput of 2817,054 Kbps, a packet loss of 0.067%, a delay of 4.771 ms, and a jitter of 4.770 ms, while in crowded user conditions the throughput reached 523,742 Kbps, a packet loss of 0.38%, a delay of 11.084 ms, and a jitter of 11.085 ms. Thus, this research succeeded in identifying and overcoming the problem of Wireless LAN digital park at Riau University library, namely signal coverage, and significantly improving the quality of service in QoS (Quality of Service) standards.
