Peran Dinas Kesehatan Kota Pekanbaru Dalam Program Pencegahan Stunting
Stunting is a condition of failure to thrive in children under five caused by malnutrition, especially in the first 1,000 days of life (HPK). Where the condition of failure to thrive in children under five is caused by a lack of nutritional intake and inadequate parenting, especially in 1,000 HPK. The phenomenon of stunting cases in Pekanbaru City is due to the lack of public interest in checking their pregnancies at the puskesmas and posyandu, then parents' lack of understanding about the dangers of stunting, and there are still many parents of babies who are not active in socialization activities carried out by the City Health Office. Pekanbaru and also there are still many breastfeeding mothers who work and do not want to give breast milk, where breast milk is replaced with formula milk. In this case, the Pekanbaru City Health Office is one of the stakeholders in preventing stunting in Pekanbaru City. The purpose of this research is to understand and analyze and describe the constraints of the Pekanbaru City Health Office's role in the stunting prevention program. The researcher uses Jim Ife & Frank Tesoriero (2016) theory which states that roles have 4 dimensions, namely the role of facilitator, educational role, representational role, and technical role. In this study, researchers used qualitative methods and data collection techniques using field observation techniques, interviews, and documentation. The role of the Pekanbaru City Health Office in the stunting prevention program has not been maximized.
