Kesulitan Dalam Mempelajari Makna Kanji Pada Mahasiswa Angkatan 2022 Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang Universitas Riau
ABSTRAC
Kanji is one of the Japanese characters. In Japanese language education, kanji is a mandatory subject in the curriculum of the Japanese Language Education Study Program, FKIP, Riau University. Students' mastery of the kanji script is one of the learning achievements of the kanji 1 course for students in the class of 2022. Many students in the class of 2022 still experience difficulties in learning the meaning of kanji. It can be seen from the low quality of students' quiz and final exam results and the large number of kanji they learn. Therefore, researchers are interested in examining students' difficulties in learning the meaning of kanji in students of the class of 2022, Riau University's Japanese Language Education Study Program.
The aim of this study is to determine students' difficulties in learning the meaning of kanji and to find out what factors influence students' difficulty in learning the meaning of kanji. The method used in this study is quantitative descriptive. The instruments used in this study were tests and questionnaires.
The results of this study involved 36 students from the class of 2022, Riau University's Japanese Language Education Study Program. From the results, students' ability to answer questions about the meaning of kanji with an average percentage of 41.29% is quite low. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that students have difficulty learning the meaning of kanji. The factors that influence students in learning kanji are curriculum factors and environmental factors.
