Komunikasi Krisis Pemerintah Kota Pekanbaru Dalam Penanganan Penyebarluasan Dampak Pandemi Covid 19

SUMMARY
a field of study that has grown rapidly in the field of communication and organizations over the last thirty years. This study emphasizes how organizations best explain their existence to their stakeholders and the public when a crisis strikes. This research aims to reveal the pattern of the Pekanbaru city government in responding to crisis communication by understanding the cultural aspects of the community so that information can be conveyed well to the entire community regarding appropriate advice during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Research methodology which is defined as processes, principles and procedures according to Robert Bogdan (1993) is used to approach these problems. In order to obtain data and information that is in accordance with the research formulation and objectives, a research design is needed that contains a comprehensive research work plan. With this design, the author attempts to understand the social phenomena of society according to what they think. Because it emphasizes the perspective of understanding and subjective meaning of crisis communication in the midst of a pandemic, this study uses a qualitative design.
The research results show that: First, the Pekanbaru City Government's communication in tackling the spread of Covid-19 is good. Judging from the communicator, message, media, communicater, and effect. Communication is carried out by the City Government through the delivery of information by the Pekanbaru City Communication, Information, Statistics and Coding Service. Second. Factors hampering Pekanbaru city government's communication in dealing with the spread of Covid-19 are the spread of hoax information whose level of truth is still in doubt, as well as the distribution of social assistance from the Provincial Government which is problematic due to inappropriate implementation of technical guidelines by the regional government.
