Pengetahuan Perawat Tentang Perawatan Berkelanjutan (Continuity Of Care)
Background: Nurses play a significant role in implementing continuity of care to reduce re-admission risk. Nurses’ knowledge about continuity of care is essential to ensure that continuity of care occurs consistently. This study aims to determine nurses’ knowledge about continuity of care. Methods: This study used a descriptive research design. The study sample was 95 nurses in the medical and surgical inpatient rooms of Arifin Achmad Hospital who were selected using the total sampling technique. The research variables include nurses’ knowledge about continuity of care measured using a questionnaire developed by the researcher and used after the validity testing. Result: The respondents were primarily nurses aged 19-44 (87,4%), female gender (78,9%), D3 nursing education (50,5%), length of work ≥ 12 years (51,6%), and the majority of the respondent had good knowledge about continuity of care (68,4%). Conclusion: Nurses have good knowledge related to continuing care in the hospital. The result of this study provides an overview of potential contributions to implementing coordinated care to reduce re-admission rates. The implications of nursing knowledge on continuing care also provide a comprehensive quality of care that can improve patient’s quality of life.
