Hubungan Kualitas Tidur dengan Kualitas Hidup Pasien Kanker Payudara Pasca Mastektomi di Rsud Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau
Introduction: The quality of life of post-mastectomy breast cancer patients must be maintained to ensure the patient's physical and psychological well-being. Sleep disorders are the most frequent and problematic problem for post-mastectomy breast cancer patients. However, this disease is not managed well with routine clinical treatment. Purpose: This study aims to determine the relationship between sleep quality and quality of life in post-mastectomy breast cancer patients. Methods: This study was a cross sectional study conducted on 83 patients who had undergone mastectomy in the last 6 months. The research was conducted from June to August 2023. The questionnaires used were the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Breast (FACT-B). Fisher's exact test was performed in statistical analysis. Results: More than half of the patients (51.8%) had a good quality of life. However, the majority of patients (90.6%) had poor sleep quality. Statistical analysis showed that there was no relationship between sleep quality and quality of life in post-mastectomy breast cancer patients (p= 0.267). Conclusion: The results of the study show that there is no relationship between sleep quality and quality of life, but more in-depth research is needed to determine the determining factors that can improve the quality of life in post-mastectomy breast cancer patients.
