Komunikasi Pariwisata Kelompok Sadar Wisata (Pokdarwis) Dalam Pengembangan Embung Terpadu Sebagai Destinasi Wisata Di Kampung Dayun Kabupaten Siak

The phenomenon of forest and land fires (Karhutla) that often occurs in Riau Province, especially in Dayun Village, led the community to take the initiative to make a reservoir as a water reserve during the dry season for solutions to forest and land fires. As the forest and land fires decreased in 2019, the embung area became abandoned. The government, together with the tourism awareness group (Pokdarwis), took the initiative to turn the embung area into a tourist area. This research aims to analyze Pokdarwis tourism communication in developing Integrated Embung as a tourist destination in Dayun Village through the application of four tourism communication management functions and analyzing tourism marketing communication carried out.
This research used descriptive qualitative methods, with research subjects totaling six people, selected using purposive techniques. The main informants were the Chairperson/Deputy Chairperson of Pokdarwis, the Village Head, and the Siak Regency Tourism Office, as well as local communities and visiting tourists as supporting informants. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques involve reducing data, collecting data, and drawing conclusions. The data validity checking technique is triangulation.

The results showed that tourism communication applied by Pokdarwis has been carried out well with the application of four tourism communication management functions, namely the planning stage, organizing stage, mobilizing stage, and monitoring and evaluation stage. Tourism marketing communication carried out by Pokdarwis has also been optimal, where marketing integrated Embung is carried out through promotion through the use of social media and online media, making tour packages offered to tourists, and promotion through the procurement of events and competitions.
