Hubungan Fungsi Kognitif Terhadap Tingkat Depresi Pada Lansia Penderita Hipertensi
Introduction: Impaired cognitive function is one of the problems caused by hypertension. Impaired cognitive function in elderly people with hypertension is a serious problem because it can cause psychological impacts such as depression. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between cognitive function and the level of depression in elderly people with hypertension in the working area of the Payung Sekaki Community Health Center, Pekanbaru. Method: This research is a quantitative study using a correlational descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample is 94 respondents taken based on inclusion criteria using purposive sampling technique. The analysis uses the chi-square test analysis. Results: Univariate analysis shows that 52.1% of respondents experienced mild cognitive dysfunction and 44.7% experienced mild depression. Chi-square test analysis shows that there is a significant relationship between cognitive function and the level of depression in elderly people with hypertension with p-value (0.00) < alpha (0.1). Conclusion: Cognitive function has a significant relationship with the level of depression in elderly people with hypertension.
