Pengaruh Variasi Penambahan Zat Aditif Graphene Dan Surfactant SPAN 60 Terhadap Tingkat Oksidasi Dan Viskositas Pada Wet Contact Disc On Disc Menggunakan RBD Palm Olein
Tribology is the science that focuses on friction, wear, and lubrication of surfaces interacting in relative motion. Lubrication is an effective way to minimize friction and wear. To reduce the use of environmentally unfriendly mineral oil-based lubricants, alternative lubricant sources, such as vegetable oils, are being explored. One commonly studied vegetable oil in current research is palm oil, specifically RBD Palm Oil. However, not all the properties required for an effective lubricant are present in palm oil, such as viscosity, oxidation resistance, and wear rate. This study employs a disc-on-disc tribometer to investigate the impact of adding graphene and the surfactant span 60 to reduce oxidation levels. The results show that the lubricant mixture variation of RBDPO 94% + graphene 2% + surfactant span 60 4% exhibits the lowest wear rate in the first hour, with a value of 1.91962 x 10-5.
