Komunikasi Ritual Dalam Persembahyangan Purnama dan Tilem pada Umat Hindu di Kota Pekanbaru
Hindus in Pekanbaru City are migrants who come from various regions. Hindus in Pekanbaru city not only come from Balinese but also some come from Batak, Javanese, Chinese and Indian tribes. Hindus in Pekanbaru City are a minority community with a very small population when compared to the population of other religions. The Purnama and Tilem moon prayer ceremonies are one of the mandatory prayers performed by Hindus every month, as well as Hindus in Pekanbaru City. Despite living in an area where the majority of the population is Muslim, Hindus in Pekanbaru City still carry out Purnama and Tilem prayers with a series of rituals performed at the Jagatnatha Great Temple which is located in a Muslim settlement.
This research uses qualitative research. The research was conducted at Pura Agung Jagatnatha, Pekanbaru City. The research time was conducted from January 2023 and until November 2023. The subjects of this research are the Jagatnatha Great Temple Stakeholders, the Chairman of the Jagatnatha Great Temple Management, the Deputy Chairman of the Jagantha Great Temple Management, and the Chairman and Members of Tempek Panam and Tempek Simpang Tiga. The object of this research is the Purnama and Tilem Prayers in Pekanbaru City. In this research, the technique used is purposive technique. The data collection method used observation, interview and documentation. In this study, researchers used Huberman and Miles' interactive model in analyzing research data.
The results show that the full moon and tilem prayers consist of nganteb banten, puja trisandya, kramaning sembah, silence and prayer, and dharma wacana. Verbal symbols are prayers/mantras and chants that have meaning. Non-verbal symbols contained in this prayer are in the form of bebantenan, clothing, and attitudes and behaviors shown where each of these symbols has a special meaning. The communication pattern in this prayer is centered on the pemangku to the seratih and then other Hindus. And the stakeholder directly to all Hindus who attended the Purnama and Tilem prayers in Pekanbaru City.
