Pola Komunikasi Organisasi Keluarga Besar Rang Tanjuang (Kbrt) Kota Pekanbaru Dalam Menyelesaikan Konflik Internal
The Organization Keluarga Besar Rang Tanjuang (KBRT) in Pekanbaru City is an organization that consists of Minang people of the Tanjuang ethnicity. This organization aims to gather Minang people of the Tanjuang ethnicity in Pekanbaru City. Conflicts within the Organization Keluarga Besar Rang Tanjuang (KBRT) in Pekanbaru City originate from differences in opinions and compelling desires. These differences and desires lead to the division of the organization into two factions: a group opposing the current administration and a group supporting the existing leadership. The existence of this conflict necessitates an identification of the communication process and patterns used to resolve it. The conflict also requires precise evaluation to prevent the organization from encountering similar issues. This research aims to understand the communication process, communication patterns, and evaluations employed by the Organization Keluarga Besar Rang Tanjuang (KBRT) in Pekanbaru City in resolving internal conflicts.
This study utilizes a qualitative descriptive method to describe and depict phenomena or conditions as they are. Six participants were selected using purposive sampling. The research participants include executives, members, and elders (ninik mamak) of the Organization Keluarga Besar Rang Tanjuang in Pekanbaru City. Data collection employs three methods: interviews, observations, and documentation. The research incorporates four data analysis techniques: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and validation. Data validity is ensured through participant extension and method triangulation.
The conflict resolution process involves closed meetings attended by executives, conflicting members, and elders. The communication pattern used to resolve conflicts is the star communication pattern, as observed in meetings where all attendees can express their opinions without intermediaries or barriers based on their status. Evaluations are implemented to prevent the recurrence of similar issues, such as strengthening the Articles of Association and Bylaws, and fortifying the organization internally by fostering stronger familial relationships within the organization.
