"Implementasi Pembelajaran Fisika Melalui Pendekatan Kontekstual Tradisi Pacu Jalur Pada Materi Kinematika Gerak Lurus Untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Kognitif Siswa SMAN 1 Kuantan Hilir"
This study aims to determine the cognitive abilities of students in class XI phase F through the application of learning with a contextual approach to the Pacu Jalur Tradition. The research design used was quasi experiment with non-equivalent posttest only control group design. The population of this study were 143 students of class XI phase F of SMAN 1 Kuantan Hilur in the 2023/2024 school year with a sample of 71 students consisting of class F1.3 as an experimental class totaling 36 students and class F1.5 as a control class totaling 35 students. The data collection instruments used are learning instruments and data collection. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis through the average value of students' cognitive abilities and inferential analysis through normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing. The results showed that the average value of students' cognitive abilities in the experimental class was better than the control class. Therefore, learning with a contextual approach to the Pacu Jalur Tradition can be used as an alternative that can be applied in the physics learning process in schools, especially in schools in Kuantan Singingi Regency to improve the cognitive abilities of students.
