Pengaruh Perlakuan Aging Pada Preparasi Zeolit Berbahan Dasar Lempung Maredan Teraktivasi Alkali Dan Kinetika Reaksi Pada Adsorpsi Logam Berat Pb(II)
Maredan clay is a natural material that potential as a raw material for making zeolite synthesis. Zeolite from Maredan clay was used as an adsorbent to adsorb lead(II) metal. Purpose of experiment to synthesis zeolite from Maredan clay due to high SiO2 and Al2O3 contains. Maredan clay was characterized used XRF to determinethe oxide contain. The method used in zeolit sythesis is alkaline hydrothermal fusion by mixed solid NaOH and Maredan clay 1:1 and followed by heating process with variations hydrothermal times of 12, 18, 20, 24, 36 dan 48 hours at temperature 100°C. Zeolie was characterized used XRD, FTIR and adsorptivity test for lead(II) metal was analyzed by ICP-OES instrument and the reaction kinetics model was determined. XRF result of Maredan clay showed SiO2 content was 47.751% and Al2O3 was 32.513%. XRD data showed that the dominant peak is sodalite. From the XRD results, the crystallinity of sodalite at time variations of 12, 18, 20, 24, 36 and 48 hours was 20.71; 19.24; 23.45; 19.18; 25.04 and 14.83% and crystal sizes of 97.30; 69.68; 97.30; 69.68; 53.95 and 69.68 nm. Cristallinity of zeolite Y 4.72; 4.39; 4.01; 3.51; 3.02 and 2.64 % and crystal size of 49.72; 71.17; 62.21; 71.17; 41.49 and 41.48 nm. FTIR data results showed vibrations from double rings D4R or D6R at wave numbers 650-500 cm-1. The results applied of adsorptivity for Pb(II) metal on the synthesis zeolite obtained the highest efficiency was 99.82% in 210 minutes with an adsorption capacity of 95.73 mg/g. The adsorption kinetics obtained are pseudo second order with R = 0.998 and K value = 0.01395 g/ mg minute.
