The tourism industry is an industry that is growing rapidly globally and is currently a source of income for many people. Tourism development in the region as a development sector cannot be separated from community development and the development of its supporting sectors. Communication is one of the success factors in developing a tourist destination. The opportunity for a tourist spot to become famous will be wide open through communication. This research aims to describe tourism communication in the development of tourist villages and explain stakeholder participation in efforts to develop the Bokor tourist village.
This research used a qualitative descriptive method which used a purposive technique to determine the informants so that 8 informants were found. The data collection techniques in this research are observation, documentation and interviews. Then the data obtained is analyzed by reducing the data, presenting the data and drawing conclusions. Meanwhile, the technique for checking the validity of the data in this research is the triangulation technique
The results of this research show that tourism communication in the development of the Bokor tourist village is the formation of a tourism awareness group that is responsible for managing the tourist village, as well as the involvement of government stakeholders, academics and the community. Pokdarwis tourism communication in the development of the Bokor Tourism Village is carried out by identifying problems and needs, communication planning, management and evaluation. The involvement of stakeholders is the Meranti Islands Regency tourism office as Policy Creator, the village government and Pokdarwis as coordinators and facilitators, Pokdarwis also play a role as implementers, as well as accelerators by Pokdarwis, tourists and the communit. The role of each stakeholder will influence the development of the Bokor tourist village
