Upaya Indonesia Dalam Menjadikan Kawasan Tambang Batubara Ombilin Menjadi Situs Warisan Dunia
This study describes Indonesia's efforts to make the Ombilin Coal Mining Area a world heritage site. There are many tourist sites owned by the State of Indonesia, one of which is the Ombilin Mining Coal Heritage of Sawahlunto which has been designated by UNESCO as a world heritage site. Ombilin Mining coal Heritage of Sawahlunto was inaugurated in July 2019 because it has met the criteria and requirements of UNESCO to be registered as a world heritage site.
This study uses a Neorealist perspective on international relations and the Nation State level of analysis supported by strategy. This research is a qualitative research with deductive analysis method. The scope of research is Indonesia's efforts to make the Ombilin Coal Mining Area a world heritage site.
This research describes the results of Indonesia's efforts to make the Ombilin coal mining area a world heritage status by developing facilities as well as the legacy of the mining area which can be seen from the stipulation of 45 proposals in the form of objects and buildings and 119 cultural heritages proposed as the "Old City of the Sawahlunto Coal Mine" included in the temporary list / tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage. After going through a long process from 1999 until finally in 2019 the Ombilin Coal Mining Area was designated as a World Heritage Site.
