Efektivitas Pembelajaran Berbasis Project STEM pada Materi Energi Alternatif dalam Melatih Keterampilan Berpikir Kreatif Siswa Kelas X SMAN 5 Pekanbaru
This study aims to describe the level of creative thinking skills of high school students on alternative energy material with the application of STEM project-based learning, as well as to determine the effectiveness of the application of STEM project-based learning on alternative energy material in training high school students' creative thinking skills. The population in this study were X grade students of SMA Negeri 5 Pekanbaru. The sample selection of experimental class and control class was taken randomly after normality test and homogeneity test. The experimental class was given the treatment of applying STEM project-based learning while the control class used conventional learning on alternative energy material. The research method used was quasi experiment with non-equivalent posttest only control group design. This study used test instruments in the form of creative thinking skills description questions. The research data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel and SPSS program. The results showed that the level of creative thinking skills of the experimental group got an average score of 2.53 with a creative category, while the control group got an average score of 2.11 with a fairly creative category. After the statistical analysis test of overall creative thinking skills between the experimental group and the control group obtained a sig value. 0.003 ≤ 0.05, which means there is a significant difference in students' creative thinking skills between classes that apply STEM project-based learning and classes that apply conventional learning on alternative energy materials. Therefore, STEM project-based learning is effective to be used as an alternative that can be applied in the Physics learning process at school to train students' creative thinking skills.
