Status Mutu Kualitas Air Di Danau Buatan Rumbai Pesisir Kota Pekanbaru

The coast of Rumbai Artificial Lake is one of the lakes in Pekanbaru. Various activities in and around the lake will certainly cause pollutants to enter the lake. The aim of this research is to determine the existing condition of water quality and to see the quality status of water quality using the Pollution Index (IP) method. This research was carried out from July to August 2023 at the coast of Rumbai Artificial Lake, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province. The research method used is a survey. The research results show that the average water quality meets class II quality standards, except for BOD parameters ranging from 5,6 – 5,8 mg/L, total phosphate ranging from 0,7 – 0,8 mg/L, total nitrogen ranging from 5 – 18 mg/L, and fecal coli ranging from 10.666 – 28.333 MPN/100 mL. The average IP results in waters range from 3,3 – 4,2. Based on the results of the pollution index calculation, it shows that the lake water quality is categorized as lightly polluted at all observation stations.
