Kaji Eksperimental Campuran Minyak Sawit Dengan Polyol Ester(Poe) Oil Sebagai Lubricant Terhadap Laju Keausan Dan Koefisien Gesek Dengan Komposisi Massa 75% Poe Dan 25% Minyak Sawit Pada Wet Contact Pin-On-Disc
Every machine element that moves and comes into contact will experience failure. This is due to contact between two objects or friction. In other words, friction will definitely occur when objects move and contact each other. This friction that occurs can cause damage or loss of particles from a material, which is called wear. Wear occurs when two objects press and rub against each other. To prevent friction and wear, lubricants are used. In the world of tribology, there are three types of lubricants based on their basic ingredients, namely, mineral, vegetable and synthetic. In this research, a mixture of palm oil and polyol ester (POE) oil was used as a lubricant with a pin-on-disc tribometer by varying the rotation speed. So the results obtained are that the greatest wear rate occurs at the highest rotational speed. Meanwhile, the coefficient of friction that occurs is greatest at smaller rotational speeds.
