Biologi Reproduksi Ikan Motan ( Thynnichtys Thynnoides) Di Danau Teluk Benderas, Desa Rantau Baru, Kecamatan Pangkalan Kerinci, Kabupaten Pelalawan
Thynnichtys thynnoides is a type of fish commonly inhabits the Teluk Banderas Lake, an oxbow lake of the Kampar River. The population of that fish, however, is decreasing, while its biological aspects information is rare. To understand the reproductive biology of that fish, a study was conducted from June-August 2023. Samplings were conducted 6 times, once/ 2 weeks. The fish was captured using a net with 1 inch mesh size. Parameters measured were sexual characteristics, sex ratio, gonad maturity level, gonad somatic index, fecundity and egg diameter. Results shown that the reproductive season of that fish started in August as there were many fishes in 4th gonadal maturity stage. The Gonad Somatic Index (GSI) increases with the increase of Gonad Maturity Level (GML), the GSI of female fish were 2.92% (1st GML), 3.86% (2nd GML),6.76 (3rd GML), and 12.25% (4th GML). While those of the male were 1.07%, 4.11%, 5.2% and 9.17% in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th GML respectively. The fecundity of the ranges from 9,607-15,624 egg/ fish. While the egg diameter was varied from 0.83 to 0.95 mm.
