Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Predict Observe Explain Untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Berpikir Analitis Pada Materi Kemagnetan Siswa MTs Hasanah Pekanbaru
Quality human resources are the main factor in the progress of a nation in the era of globalization, especially in the 21st century. Quality education is very important to create superior human resources, so that education is not only an obligation, but also an unavoidable necessity in this complex era. The goal of national education in the 21st century is that it requires quality, not quantity, it requires transformation to face increasingly dynamic future challenges, such as technological developments and globalization. The development of the times and technology encourages significant changes in the learning paradigm, with the role of students as a prominent center of learning, this helps students develop skills that are relevant to the future, namely high-level thinking skills, especially analytical thinking skills, becomes the focus in learning achievement, helps students solve complex problems and make better decisions. These abilities play an important role in education, helping students face challenges effectively and achieve optimal results.
The aim of this research is to describe the level of students' analytical thinking abilities and test the significant level of analytical thinking abilities between classes that apply the POE (predict observe explain) learning model assisted by KIT and classes that apply conventional learning models. The benefits that are expected to be obtained from this research are for teachers, it is hoped that it can be a consideration in choosing and implementing learning models that are able to improve students' analytical thinking abilities. For students, it is hoped that it can improve students' analytical thinking skills.
The research was carried out at MTs Hasanah Pekanbaru on magnetism material, which is part of the revised 2013 curriculum for class IX even semester. This research was conducted with a population of 134 students divided into 5 classes. The sample taken consisted of 56 female students, each in classes IX.4 and IX.5 with a total of 28 female students. The research design carried out was Quasi Experimental with the research type Nonequivalent Posttest Only Control Group Design. This design consists of two class groups, namely the experimental class represented by class IX.5 which applies the POE learning model with the help of magnetic KIT, while the control class is represented by class IX.4 which uses conventional learning models. After both classes had finished being treated, both classes took a post-test on analytical thinking skills which consisted of 9 questions in the form of essays prepared based on indicators of analytical thinking skills by Fatihah. The post-test results were then analyzed using descriptive analysis and inferential analysis using the Independent Sample T test technique with the help of SPSS 23 software.
The results of the descriptive analysis of students' analytical thinking abilities showed that the difference between the average scores of the experimental class and the control class was quite high and had a positive value of 12. The class that applied the POE learning model was in the high category with an average score of 67,16 and the class that applied the POE learning model was in the high category with an average score of 67,16. applying conventional learning models is in the sufficient category with an average score of 55,16. In inferential analysis, there is a significant difference between classes that apply the POE learning model with the help of magnetic KIT and classes that apply conventional models on magnetism.
Based on the results of descriptive analysis and inferential analysis, it can be concluded that the application of the POE learning model with the help of magnetic KIT can improve students' analytical thinking skills on magnetism material in class IX MTs Hasanah Pekanbaru. It is recommended to apply the POE model as an alternative in learning which aims to grow and improve students' analytical thinking skills in science learning at MTs, especially in magnetism material. However, it is recommended that when implementing the POE model assisted by magnetic KIT, it is necessary to optimize the explain stages so that analytical thinking skills are more optimally mastered by students.
