Representasi Hwang Do-Hee Sebagai Perencana Strategis Public Relations Dalam Web Drama Queenmaker
Web drama Queenmaker is a Korean drama series released in April 2023 on the Netflix streaming application. This Queenmaker web drama raises the issue of public relations which focuses on strategic planning by Hwang Do-hee. Queenmaker web drama is also made not only to entertain but also to convey the message of how a public relations person develops strategic planning. This study aims to analyze the representation of Hwang Do-hee as a public relations strategic planning in the web drama Queenmaker.
This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods with a constructivistic paradigm. The data analysis unit of this research amounted to 20 units with 11 episodes. Data collection was carried out with a focus on literature study and documentation. The data analysis technique uses an analysis system developed by Charles Sanders Peirce, namely tanda, objek and interpretasi. Furthermore, the data validity checking technique uses triangulation.
The results show that Hwang Do-hee's tanda as strategic planning leads to various activities that he does to maintain a positive image and image for both companies and individuals. The objek represented in this web drama is the strategic planning carried out by Hwang Do-hee for the recovery of the negative image of the Eunsung group to the plans he made to strengthen public trust in Oh Kyung-sook. Furthermore, the interpretasi displayed by Hwang Do-hee as a strategic planner of the Eunsung group uses a lot of propaganda with the help of the media to maintain the company's image. Hwang Do-hee's representation as a strategic planner practices the concept of PR planning, namely planning and communicating. While the representation of Hwang Do-hee as the strategic planning of Oh Kyung-sook's campaign uses a lot of media support for her to release articles that can be beneficial in terms of increasing public trust in Oh Kyung-sook.
