Pengaruh Daun Jambu Biji Daging Merah Sebagai Anestesi Pada Transportasi Sistem Kering Lobster Air Tawar
Freshwater crayfish is a luxury shrimp commodity for consumption compared
to other shrimp. One of the keys to the success of the dry transportation system lies in
the use of anesthesia to maintain the physiological and morphological conditions of
the freshwater crayfish during the transportation process. Red guava leaves are a
natural ingredient known to contain essential oils consisting of flavonoid compounds,
tannins, alkaloids, steroids, and saponins as an anesthetic agent. This research aims to
determine the effect of red flesh guava leaf extract as a natural anesthetic on the dry
transportation system for freshwater crayfish. The research method used a nonfactorial,
completely randomized design with four treatment levels and three
repetitions, namely K1 (100 mL/4L), K2 (150 mL/4L), K3 (200 mL/4L), and K4 (250
mL/4L). The results showed that the K1 treatment gave the best results regarding
fainting time (inductive) of 43 minutes–38 seconds, recovery time (sedative) of 34
minutes–33 seconds, and survival of 96.67%. The higher the red guava leaf
extract used, the faster it took for freshwater crayfish to faint.
