Potensi Ekstrak Rumput Laut Merah (Gelidium Spinosum) Sebagai Sumber Mineral Dan Senyawa Bioaktif
Gelidium spinosum is a red seaweed that has high economic value because it contains minerals and bioactive compounds that have many benefits. This content is produced by extracting G. spinosum flour. The purpose of the study was to determine the mineral content of G. spinosum (macro and micro) and the content of bioactive components extracted with different solvent polarities. This study used an experimental method, namely extracting red seaweed (G. spinosum) with different solvents (methanol, ethyl acetate, n-hexane). Parameters tested included yield analysis, proximate (moisture, ash, fat, protein, and carbohydrate content), macro (Na, Ca, K, and Mg) and micro (Fe and Mn) minerals and qualitative identification of bioactive components with GC-MS. The results showed that the yield of G. spinosum flour was 41.20%. The chemical composition of G. spinosum is carbohydrate (58,12%), protein (17,27%), water (14,42%), ash (84%), and fat (1,25%). The mineral content of G. spinosum is calcium (3,69%), sodium (0,71%), magnesium (0,58%), potassium (0,56%), iron (0,45%), and manganese (0,10%). Bioactive components of methanol extract of G. spinosum there are 33 types of compounds identified including the most compounds from the alkanes group (heptadecane), alcohol (2-hexadecen-1-ol), and palmirat acid (hexadecenoic acid. Ethyl acetate extract of G. spinosum there are 59 types of compounds identified including the most compounds from the phenol group (cyclotrisiloxane) and alkanes (pentadecane and heptadecane). N-hexane extract of G. spinosum there are 28 types of compounds identified including the most compounds from the aromatic group (benzene) and alkanes (pentadecane and heptadecane).
