Dukungan Pt Unilever Indonesia Terhadap Paris Agreement Untuk Mencapai Net Zero Emission (Nze) Melalui Program The Unilever Compass
The Paris Agreement, formed by the UN on December 12, 2015, establishes an international environmental regime aimed at addressing climate change issues by achieving Net Zero Emissions through the participation of stakeholders, such as PT Unilever Indonesia. This research focuses on PT Unilever Indonesia's contribution to implementing the Paris Agreement through the Unilever Compass program.
The study employs international regime theory and group analysis. Based on Robert O. Keohane's statement in international regime theory, it is explained that an actor's participation in implementing a regime is based on rational choice, where the actor considers long-term impacts that can influence strategies, including security, calculation, and normative factors. The research method used is explanatory qualitative method with data collection techniques through literature review.
The results showed that PT Unilever Indonesia contributes to achieving Net Zero Emissions through increased energy and water efficiency in the production process and waste utilization. The reasons PT Unilever Indonesia supports the Paris Agreement are, firstly, a sense of security to anticipate environmental, social, and economic risks. Secondly, calculation of the impact of external factors such as consumer and investor interests. Thirdly, normative factors that include all norms and laws that become standards in implementing the Paris Agreement.
