Pengaruh Pendidikan Kesehatan Metode Buzz Group Terhadap Pengetahuan, Sikap Dan Tindakan Ibu Dalam Pencegahan Ispa Usia Sekolah
Background: One of the main causes of morbidity and mortality due to infectious diseases throughout the world which most commonly affect of children is Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI). The important in preventing ARI are mother's knowledge, attitudes, and actions. The method used the buzz group method. This research aims to determine the effect of buzz group method health education on mothers' knowledge, attitudes, and actions in preventing school-aged ARI at the Puskesmas Melur, Pekanbaru. The research was conducted on May 18-25th 2024. Method: This research used quantitative design, a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The population was all mothers with school-aged children suffering from ARI who came to the Puskesmas Melur, Pekanbaru. The research sample consisted of 30 respondents divided into 2 control and experimental groups. This research used a purposive sampling technique. The instrument used a questionnaire. The analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis using Wilcoxon test. Results: The average level of mother's knowledge after being given the experimental group intervention was 10.87 out of 12 points with a P value of 0.001 < α (0.05), the average of mother's attitude was 31.93 out of 35 points with a P value of 0.001 < α (0.05), and the average of mother's action was 8.80 out of 10 points with a P value of 0.001 < α (0.05). Conclusion: There was an impact of the buzz group method of health education on mothers' knowledge, attitudes, and actions in preventing ARI for school-aged.
