Gambaran Aktivitas Sebelum Tidur Dan Kualitas Tidur Lansia Penderita Hipertensi
Background: Entering old age causes changes in various aspects. Physiological changes, namely hypertension, can affect the sleep quality of the elderly. This occurs due to several factors, such as physical, spiritual, and other activities. The aim of this study was to determine the description of activities before going to bed and the sleep quality of elderly people with hypertension in the Simpang Tiga Health Center working area. Methods: using descriptive design. The sample used was 104 respondents, taken based on inclusion criteria using the snowball sampling technique. The variables measured were activity before bed, sleep quality, and hypertension. The measuring instruments used were a pre-sleep activity questionnaire and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, as well as a blood pressure measurement sheet to classify hypertension, which was measured using a sphygmomanometer and stethoscope. The analysis used is univariate and crosstab. Results: The majority of hypertension sufferers were in the level 1 hypertension category, namely 74 respondents. The majority of elderly people's activities before going to bed for the physical dimension were 92 respondents, namely not stretching; the most for the spiritual activity dimension was doing dhikr with 89 respondents; and for other activities, the most was regulating the room temperature and avoiding disturbing sounds, namely 98 respondents. The majority of elderly people's sleep quality is poor, namely 78 respondents. The majority of sleep quality based on activities before bed was poor, and the majority was in the physical activity dimension, namely 68 respondents. Conclusion: the increasing number of activities before bed, whether physical, spiritual, or other, makes the elderly's sleep quality worse. This is caused by the age factor, which causes the elderly to experience physical and psychosocial decline, which will have an impact on their daily activities.
