Hubungan Dukungan Keluarga Dan Status Gizi Terhadap Kualitas Hidup Pasien Kemoterapi Kanker Nasofaring
Background: The nutritional disorders experienced by patients during treatment have an impact on the patient's quality of life so that family support is needed. This study aims to determine the relationship between family support and nutritional status on the quality of life of nasopharyngeal cancer chemotherapy patients. Method: This research used a descriptive correlation design with a cross sectional approach with 55 respondents at Arifin Achmad Hospital, Riau Province, which was conducted on April 24 2024 - May 14 2024 using total sampling techniques and analyzed with bivariate analysis using the chi square statistical tests. Data collection used the family support questionnaire, BMI and the EORTC – QLQ H&N35 questionnaire. Results: Respondents with good family support were 33 respondents (60%). Respondents with normal nutritional status were 29 respondents (52.7%). Respondents with poor quality of life were 35 (63.6%). The results of data analysis using the chi square statistical test obtained a p value of 0.002 which means there is a significant relationship between family support and the quality of life of nasopharyngeal cancer chemotherapy patients. The results of data analysis using the chi square statistical test obtained a p value of 0.000 which means there is a significant relationship between nutritional status and the quality of life of nasopharyngeal cancer chemotherapy patients. Conclusion: Nasopharyngeal cancer chemotherapy patients with good family support and good nutritional status tend to have a good quality of life.
