Implementasi Program Forclime Dalam Menurunkan Deforestasi Di Kabupaten Kapuas Hulu, Kalimantan Barat Tahun 2019-2021
Indonesia has great potential for flora, fauna, ecosystems and tropical forests. The forest with great potential apparently still receives little attention from the Indonesian Government. At least 286 million hectares of Indonesian forest were lost from 2001 to 2021. In that period, West Kalimantan accounted for 40% of deforestation in Indonesia. This deforestation can trigger climate change and threaten the existence of biodiversity and indigenous people. These concerns encourage the formation of collaboration Forest and Climate Change Programme (FORCLIME) for forest management in Indonesia. In this case, the researcher wants to know "How is the FORCLIME Program Implemented in Handling Deforestation in Kapuas Hulu Regency, West Kalimantan in 2019-2021?"
This research uses qualitative research methods, with document data collection techniques (document analysis). The documents used come from books, international and national journals, official government and non-government documents, and also information press release activity. The data is also enriched with journals and the official KLHK website, and the FORCLIME website which are directly related to the research object.
The research shows that the implementation of FORCLIME activities is carried out through three structural scopes. At the national level the strategy focuses on policies, strategies and institutional plans for forest management. At the regional level, providing advice regarding plans, REDD+ readlines, community and community-based forest management through DPMU. At the site/local level, it is an implementation activity Demonstration Area (DA). DA activities include conservation, land use management, increasing knowledge and sustainable community income and demonstration plot agroforestry. This activity is part of a long-term investment by educating the community about piloting sustainable forest management without reducing economic potential and obtaining benefits through sustainable forest products.
