PT. Maersk is a multinational company that has branches in various countries, one of which has an office in Indonesia, specifically in Jakarta. PT. Maersk has diverse employees, with differences in age, religion, sexual orientation and language differences. In company operations, internal communication activities occur. In recent times, English has become the language of instruction used in business activities throughout the world, to keep up with the pace of globalization. The aim of this research is to analyze organizational communication in multinational companies, namely PT Maersk, in managing diversity.
The method used is descriptive qualitative. The object of this research is PT Maersk's Organizational Communication in managing the company's diversity. Meanwhile, the research subjects were employees of PT Maersk who were involved in one of the projects in collaboration with customers from Hungary. The informants in this research consisted of two categories, namely six informants in the positions of manager, supervisor, warehouse leader.. Then the data collection techniques used were interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis techniques begin with collecting data, reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions.
The research results show that PT. Maersk Indonesia faces two main challenges in communication: linguistic and cultural diversity, and managing employee diversity. To overcome this challenge, PT. Maersk needs to implement inclusive communication and manage diversity well. Inclusive communication can be achieved by using multiple communication channels and ensuring all employees feel valued and heard. Good diversity management can be done by implementing a persuasive approach, establishing institutional diversity management, and ensuring gender equality. By overcoming these two challenges, PT. Maersk Indonesia can increase communication effectiveness, increase customer satisfaction, and encourage innovation.
