INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION IN BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS THROUGH DATING APPS TINDER AGAINST MATCHED PAIRS

This research was conducted to explain, analyze and find out how interpersonal communication in establishing relationships through the online dating application tinder. This study uses qualitative research methods where this study aims to describe what happened in this study. and is descriptive which only contains situations or events and does not test hypotheses or contain predictions. In this study, the researcher used the technique of checking the validity of the triangulation data.
Data triangulation is used to make the data found to be valid, reliable and useful as a tool in analyzing the data contained in the field. In this study, there were 4 informants of which the four informants were users of the Tinder application. The results in this study indicate that. Interpersonal communication carried out by Tinder application users, there are several ways to do it, starting from the initial stage of introduction by looking at the biodata of the match opponent and after that starting communication by looking at the likes or interests of the match opponent on things that are in the match opponent's self, so that when it appears the interest between the two, the communication that was carried out was effective and smooth until the relationship ended in commitment.
And for the barriers themselves, there are several obstacles, namely the premium features provided by Tinder which are quite expensive by some users, and the match opponent when communicating more discusses himself so that he loses interest and there is also the use of toxic words and negative things such as sexist and also humiliate his opponent.
