NARRATIVE ANALYSIS OF TETEBATU TOURISM VILLAGE PROMOTION IN THE INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT OF THE EAST LOMBOK REGIONAL TOURISM PROMOTION AGENCY (BPPD) @bppdlotimofficial

Promotion is a communication that seeks to remind and provide information that can influence an opinion or get a response from the audience. The East Lombok Regional Tourism Promotion Agency uses the internet for promotional media through @bppdlotimofficial Instagram account, especially in promoting Tetebatu Tourism Village. Tetebatu Tourism Village is an inspiration and example in the development of tourist villages, especially in East Lombok, as well as other tourist villages in Indonesia. Various narratives are prepared to increase tourist awareness and interest in this tourist destination. Based on this, the objectives of this study are (1) Analyze the initial storyline of Tetebatu Tourism Village East Lombok promoted through @bppdlotimofficial Instagram account, (2) Analyze the middle storyline of Tetebatu Tourism Village East Lombok promoted through @bppdlotimofficial Instagram account, and (3) Analyze the final storyline of Tetebatu Tourism Village East Lombok promoted through @bppdlotimofficial Instagram account.
This study uses a qualitative method with a narrative analysis approach. Tzvetan Todorov's narrative theory is an analytical knife that divides the narrative into three parts, namely the initial storyline, the middle storyline and the final storyline. There are 25 posts about the Tetebatu tourist village in the @bppdlotimofficial Instagram account, but the author focuses on 12 posts as a data analysis unit in this study. The data collection techniques were obtained from documentation, literature studies and interviews.
The results of this study show that the narrative about the promotion of Tetebatu tourism village through the Instagram of the East Lombok Regional Tourism Promotion Agency, namely @bppdlotimofficial has three flows. First, the initial flow explains the introduction of Tetebatu tourism village at the Best Tourism Villages event. Second, the middle flow explains the disturbances that arise in the form of environmental cleanliness problems that disturb the balance, other problems arise when promotions must be intensified to the maximum to achieve greater support from the audience. The middle flow was closed with the end of the competition, in this competition the Tetebatu tourist village has not been able to achieve victory. Third, the final plot explains the various efforts made to restore balance in the post-competition Tetebatu tourism village promotion process, the final plot in this story is marked by the success of Tetebatu tourism village as the 300 best tourist villages of ADWI 2023.
