Fabrikasi Elektroda Karbon Dengan Biomassa Pelepah Palem Raja Menggunakan Variasi Konsentrasi Aktivator Zncl2 Untuk Aplikasi Sel Superkapasitor
Carbon electrodes had become the most competitive component for supercapacitors because the biomass used was easy to obtain and cheap. In this study, the carbon electrode used was biomass from king palm fronds with varying activator concentrations. The first step began with drying the samples for 14 days. Next, pre-carbonization was carried out at a temperature of 200 ℃, then the samples were crushed using a mortar and smoothed using ball milling. Carbon powder was converted into a monolith form using a Hydraulic Press then followed by a carbonization process using nitrogen gas with varying concentrations of ZnCl_2 activator 0.3 M, 0.4 M, 0.5 M at a temperature of 800 ℃ while in the physical activation process CO2 gas was flowed at a temperature 900℃. The results of measurements in the pre-carbonization process showed a mass reduction in the sample of 25.792%. Microstructural analysis found that the sample was amorphous, indicated by the presence of a peak at a 2θ angle of around 24˚ and a 2θ angle of around 44˚ with the largest Lc value produced in the PPR-03 sample. Specific capacitance was tested using Cyclic Voltammetry and the results were 152,507 F/g, 172,630 F/g, and 142,692 F/g respectively for concentrations of 0.3 M, 0.4 M, and 0.5 M. The results showed that A concentration of 0.4 M was the optimum carbonization concentration for making carbon electrodes using king palm fronds biomass for supercapacitor cell applications.
