Background and Purpose: Zamrud Field is one of petroleum field in Riau Province located at the area of Emeral National Park. The exploration and production activity of petroleum in the area of Emeral National Park has operated since 1971 before that area was stated as a conservation area in 1979. In the beginning the petroleum field at Zamrud area was managed by PT CPI (1971 – 2002), then managed by BOB Pertamina Hulu PT BSP (2002 – 2022) and nowadays managed by PT Bumi Siak Pusako (2022 – 2042). In 2021 the Zamrud oil field generated aound 4000 barrels of oil per day by operating 194 wells from total 450 wells. The management of Zamrud field is a very interesting object to be studied because it is located in the area of Emeral National Park, until the oil and gas exploration and exploitation activity in this area must be managed as optimal as possible until it does not decrease the function of this area as a peat conservation area. From across sector point of view, the oil and gas exploitation activity in national park area is something controversial. In one side (the forestry sector), there is worry that the oil and gas activity causes decrease impact on the function of conservation area, and on the other side (the oil and gas sector), this activity is required as the source of state foreign exchange and for fulfilling the national energy need. This can cause loss for both parties namely the interference of conservation are function and the stock of petroleum cannot be exploited maximally. Based on the explanation above, then a reseach needs to be carried out in order to 1) analyze the present condition in Zamrud Field from all aspects (ecology, economy, social culture, technology, and institutional law), 2) analyze the influence of attributes and supporting factors in the management of Emeral field, 3) make the sustainable model and strategy of petroleum field management in The Zamrud Area. Material and Method: The type of data required in this research were primary data and secondary data. The primary data were collected through field observation, survey through questionnaire, and interview with selected respondents and the experts. The secondary data were obtained through the library study towards the research result report, the data and information in the form of numbers related to the management of petroleum field in Zamrud Area sourced from various institutions related to the petroleum management in Zamrud Area. The sustainability analysis was carried out by using Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) approach with Rap Petro Program. For building the sustainable strategy and model of petroleum field management in Zamrud Area was carried out by combining the result of MDS analysis, the stakeholders’ need analysis, and the prospective analysis. Result and Discussion: Based on the analysis result towards the existing condition of ecology in the petroleum field of Zamrud marked by the quality of a good land cover by the continous addition of peat forest cover until today reaching 90,01% from total large of the area. This also shows tha the oil company is consistent to decrease the large of forest land opening and decrease the interference towards the lake. Based on the calculation of economy feasibility until the contract end in 2042, the Zamrud field is feasible economically. The result of economy calculation employed the contract PSC Cost Recovery and obtained NPV = 142.004.631,4 and used contract Gross Split and obtained NPV amounted 220.624.654,6 MMUS$, until the Gross Split contant is more interesting for the contractor compared to PSC contract. In the case of regional economy development, the oil and gas sector is still the most dominant one in PDRB and APBD formation of Siak Regency. The existing social condition is marked by the increase of Human Development Index in high category (70 ≤ IPM ≤ 80). IPM of Siak Regency from 2012 until 2022 experienced an increase with average annual IPM amounted 72.79%. The condition of existing technology shows that the technology used to produce the petroleum is quite good until it can minimize the negative impact towards the environment. The condition of existing institutional law shows the company governance has been quite good and has applied Good Corporate Governance. The sustainability status of petroleum field management in Zamrud Area for the ecology, economy, social, technology, law and institutional dimensions are in quite sustainable category. This must be maintained and improved continuously by running the scenario maximally towards the seven (7) key attributes namely the forest area large, the drilling technology, the management of producted water, the increase of community prosperity, the company governance, the stock and production of petroluem, and the canal management. Conclusion: The sustainable model and strategy of Zamrud field management can be described in the function relationship Mkz = f (Lkh, Tpb, Pat, Pkm, Tkp, Cmb, Pk) which is the interaction between the large of forest area (Lkh), drilling technology (Tpb), management of producted water (Pkm), increase of community prosperity (Pkm), the company governance (Kp), the stock and production of petroleum (Cmb), and canal management (Pk). The management strategy which can be done to improve the sustainable values are: maintaining the large of forest area and increase the biodiversity; maintaining the sloping and directed drilling technology and making multi-well pad; reutilizing the producted water for waterflood project or other utilization for instance for agriculture irrigation water, industry raw water, and drinking water by using artificial wetland; increasing the community prosperity through the increase of job vacancy and business opportunity for the community, CSR program, and usage of TKDN (70 ≤ TKDN ≤ 100); increasing the application of good company governance (GCG) by involving all units, allocating the fund, controlling, and evaluating the implementation of company governance that has been implemented; maintaining the production speed by adding the infill well, caring and upgrade the surface facilities and usage of EOR technology for maintaining/improving the oil production; improving the implementation of management program and monitoring of canal water quality routinely and completing the canals with control valve (water door).
