Kepentingan Australia Dalam Kerjasama Force Posture Dengan Amerika Serikat
The Asia Pacific region is a strategic region that has many natural resource reserves. This condition makes countries seek to expand their regional influence, such as Tiongkok which is a great power in the region. Tiongkok is expanding its influence in the region through economic and military improvements that are seen as threatening the position of countries around the region, including Australia. Australia considers Tiongkok's presence to cause Asia Pacific to be a conflict-prone region, therefore Australia is trying to balance Tiongkok's strength by forging an alliance with the United States. This study aims to determine Australia's interest in the initiation of force posture security cooperation with the United States.
This study examines Australia's strategy in offsetting Tiongkok's influence in the Asia Pacific region by using a Neorealistic. This type of research is qualitative research using the theory of foreign policy decision making by William D. Coplin to explain what the interests of Australia so issued a foreign policy to agree on this cooperation with the United States. Data collection is done through document analysis, collecting and linking theories. The Data obtained illustrates the close relationship between Australia and the United States that has been established since after World War II.
The results of this study indicate that Australia's main interest in the initiation of force posture cooperation is as an Australian security strategy to offset the rise of the Chinese military in the region.
