This research discusses Regional Government Radio and Development. Historical Study of the Existence of Information Media in Development in Kuantan Singingi Regency 2000-2014. The aim of this research is to determine the initial establishment, role and stages of development of Regional Government Radio (RPD) which existed as an information medium in development in Kuantan Singingi Regency 2000-20014. This research uses a historical research approach which includes heuristic, verification, interpretation and historiography stages. This research was carried out at the Kuantan Singingi Regency Communication and Information Service Office and at the Kuantan Singingi FM Radio Kuansing building on Jln. Linggarjati No.2, Central Kuantan District, Teluk Kuantan City, Kuantan Singingi Regency. The results of this research show that Government Radio is a means or forum for obtaining information such as broadcasting educational news, news about government and even entertainment. In its development, Regional Government Radio (RPD) underwent several phases, namely phase I, phase II, phase III, and phase IV until (August 20014). Where during its development, the Kuantan Singingi Regency Regional Government Radio experienced many obstacles and obstacles, both in the field of technicians, as well as facilities and infrastructure, but thanks to the hard work of the management, the Kuantan Singingi Regency Regional Government Radio was able to survive and broadcast until now. The obstacles in establishing the Kuantan Singingi Regional Government Radio (RPD) are: a. Financial limitations, b. difficulty in finding supporting devices (Radio devices), c. it is difficult to get information about how to set up a radio station. d. There is no KPDI (regional Indonesian broadcasting commission) for the Riau region.
