Etnografi Komunikasi Tradisi Arak Berarak Adat Pernikahan Pada Suku Melayu Di Desa Lubuk Bendahara Timur Kecamatan Rokan Iv Koto Kabupaten Rokan Hulu
Arak berarak is one of the traditions carried out to inform the community that a wedding has taken place with the custom of ayam putih tubang siang. The tradition of arak berarak among the Malay tribe is known as boaak. Boaak is a tradition carried out to inform the community and also to entertain the bride and groom with traditional musical instruments such as tambourines, gongs, and badikie poems. The purpose of this research is to find out how the situation, events, acts of communication in the tradition of arak berarak in the Malay tribal wedding custom in Lubuk Bendahara Timur Village, Rokan IV Koto District, Rokan Hulu Regency.
This research uses a qualitative method with a communication ethnography approach. The informants in this study consisted of 7 people according to the criteria selected using purposive techniques. Data collection techniques in this study through interviews, observation, and documentation. With data analysis techniques using data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The data checking technique used is triangulation.
The results of the study showed that the communicative situation of the tradition of the procession was carried out in the courtyard of the bride's residence and was attended by family relatives and the community of East Lubuk Bendahara Village. Meanwhile, communicative events include a whole set of components that build communication, namely the type of event, topic, purpose and function, participants, message form, message content, sequence of actions, rules of interaction and interpretation norms in the tradition of the procession. And the communicative act is in the form of a person who knows and understands the implementation of the tradition of the procession.
