Latar Belakang Penggunaan Narkotika Pada Narapidana Di Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Kelas II A Kota Pekanbaru

This research was conducted at Class IIA Correctional Institution of Pekanbaru City. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors behind narcotics abuse behavior in prisoners and also to find out the differences in social status of prisoners with narcotics crimes in Class II A Correctional Institution Pekanbaru City. This research applies a quantitative approach using descriptive analysis. The sampling technique in this study was simple random sampling using the slovin formula which obtained a sample of 91 participants. Data collection was done through primary data using questionnaires and secondary data. The research findings show that there are factors that influence narcotics abuse, family factors obtained with a score of 1,348 in the high category, personality factors obtained with a score of 1,230 in the high category, and community environment factors obtained with a score of 1.212 in the low category, this means that it does not affect. The research findings indicate that there are differences in the social status of prisoners, the social status of education obtained with a score of 1,392 in the high category, which means that there are differences in prisoners with narcotics crimes, the social status of ethnicity obtained with a score of 956 in the high category, which means that there are differences in prisoners with narcotics crimes, and the social status of work obtained with a score of 956 in the low category, which means that there are no differences in prisoners with narcotics crimes.
