This research aims to increase student learning activation. The learning method usesthe open group discussion method. Based on the resultsof data analysisand discussion of research results, it can be concluded that open group discussions are very important forhistory learning so that learning isbetter and more active. In Cycle 1, the results of student data from meetings 1 and 2 were obtained. The average student results were at the 1st meeting with an average of 42.50% and at the 2nd meeting an average of 57.50%. And the average of both is 50.00% in the Fair category. Which means it is not yet capable of goodresults. In cycle 2, the results of student data from meetings 3 and 4 of the second cycle above, obtained theaverage student results, namely meeting 3 with an average of 75.00% and atmeeting 4 an averageof 90.00%. And theaverageof both is82.50. So, we can determine the criteria as very good. So, we can conclude that the use of open group discussion learning methods can increase student activity and creativity in learning history.
