Efektivitas Program Latihan Fisik Terhadap Penurunan Tekanan Darah Pada Penderita Hipertensi
Hypertension is a chronic disease, called the silent killer. Non-pharmacological efforts to reduce and control blood pressure are through physical exercise programs. This study aims to identify the effectiveness of a physical exercise program in reducing blood pressure in hypertension patients in three villages in the working area of the Pangkalan Kuras II Health Center. Method: This research uses an experimental method with a pre-test and post-test design. The sample in this study were patients with hypertension consisting of 101 people selected using purposive techniques. The type of physical exercise program is walking three times a week and exercising twice weekly for three weeks. A manual blood pressure, monitor or aneroid is used to measure blood pressure. The majority of respondents were patients with grade 2 hypertension, 58 people. The statistical test used is the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Results: Most respondents were in the age range 46-64 years (85.1%), female 86.14%, and respondents with grade II hypertension 59.4%. The results of the bivariate analysis of walking and exercise showed that the p-value for systole and diastole was 0.00, which is below the critical limit of research (α = 0.05), which indicates there is a difference before and after the implementation of a physical exercise program with a systolic decrease of 4.72 mmHg and a diastolic reduction of 3.13 mmHg. Conclusion: Routine and regular physical exercise, such as walking and exercise, contributes to reducing blood pressure in hypertension patients.
