Komunikasi Kesehatan Tenaga Medis Pada Klinik Bulan Mulya Dalam Memberikan Pelayanan Kesehatan Di Perawang Kecamatan Tualang Kabupaten Siak
Bulan Mulya Clinic is one of the longstanding healthcare facilities in Tualang Subdistrict. It has earned significant trust among the local community as their primary healthcare provider. Consequently, various perspectives have emerged among the community regarding this clinic, particularly concerning how health communication is applied in its healthcare services. This research aims to explore the forms of communication, communication media, and health communication models utilized at Bulan Mulya Clinic.
This study employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and documentation. The study involves six informants, including management personnel from Bulan Mulya Clinic, nurses specializing in maternal and child health, a general practitioner, a pharmacist, and two patients.
Findings reveal that doctors and nurses at Bulan Mulya Clinic employ both verbal and nonverbal communication methods when delivering healthcare services to patients. Forms of communication such as oral communication, written communication, body language, and facial expressions are utilized to ensure the smoothness and effectiveness of healthcare service processes. Additionally, healthcare providers at Bulan Mulya Clinic utilize smartphone technology through WhatsApp applications and health-related images displayed within the facility during healthcare service delivery. These media are employed to provide information on treatment and prevention to patients and for consultations, whether in-person or via messaging apps like WhatsApp, as required during service delivery. Furthermore, the communication models employed by doctors and nurses at Bulan Mulya Clinic encompass both intrapersonal and interpersonal communication. In intrapersonal communication, healthcare providers must consider effective ways to communicate health information to patients. In interpersonal communication, doctors and nurses adjust their communication styles to ensure patients comprehend health information effectively.
