Komunikasi Adaptasi Lintas Budaya Antara Karyawan Lokal Dan Pemimpin Asing Di Perusahaan Pt. Asia Pacificrayon
The issue of cultural differences is a problem that often occurs in every place, whether in work, society, agencies or companies. Such as communication, social and cultural problems in that place. Every individual will adapt when they are in a new place, especially companies. Many multinational companies are no longer adapting to citizens of the same country but to foreign countries. This research aims to determine cross-cultural adaptation communication between local employees and foreign leaders at PT. Asia Pacific Rayon. Apart from that, this research aims to find out how acculturation, deculturation, assimilation occur in the Cross- Cultural Adaptation Communication process between Local Employees and Foreign Leaders at PT Company. Asia Pacific Rayon. This research uses cross- cultural adaptation theory according to Guddykunts and Kim which uses indicators: Acculturation, Deculturation, Assimilation.
This research method uses qualitative methods and descriptive research carried out at PT. Asia Pacific Rayon. From the results of measurements of each sub-indicator of the research carried out, it can be stated that cross-cultural adaptation communication has been carried out well but assimilation cannot occur which creates a new culture. The data collection technique uses a purposive technique. There are 3 ways of collecting data, namely: (1) Interview, (2) Observation, (3) Documentation.
The results of this research show that acculturation occurs by understanding each other's culture and language. Deculturation also occurs when one understands each other's culture but prefers each individual's group. Assimilation does not occur because there is no new culture that emerges from the cross-cultural adaptation process.
