Communication of counseling plays a crucial role in enhancing the health and safety of loading and unloading workers at ports, through systematic education delivery and comprehensive training. This communication not only increases workers' awareness of existing hazards but also encourages active participation in adhering to occupational health and safety regulations and promoting a positive safety culture in the workplace. This research aims to analyze the influence of communication of counseling on the improvement of occupational safety and health among workers involved in loading and unloading activities. The theory used in this research is the Diffusion of Innovations theory.
The research method employed was a survey using questionnaires as data collection instruments. The study population consisted of loading and unloading workers at the ports of Dumai City, with a sample size of 79 workers selected using the Slovin formula. Data analysis utilized simple linear regression and coefficient of determination tests to assess the extent to which communication of counseling affects occupational safety and health.
In this research, it is known that the constant value is 30.308, meaning the consistent value of the K3 variable is 30.308. The regression coefficient The regression coefficient is positive. The value in the t calculation obtained a value of 7.271. And the t-table value is 0.221. And in this research the results obtained were a value of R = 0,638 and a coefficient of determination (Rsquare) of 0.407. This figure shows that the contribution of the influence of the counseling communication variable to the Occupational Safety and Health (K3) of Loading and Unloading Workers in Dumai City is 40.7%, which is in the medium category.
