MODIFIKASI ALAT UJI FATIGUE TESTING MACHINE

Many problems that arise in mechanical work in the field are experienced by
technical expertsin theirfield, such as fatigue problems (the occurrence of material
damage due to repeated loading) which are difficult to predict when they occur,
and cannot be seen with the naked eye that in some form materials such as shafts
show signs of fatigue fracture, therefore a simple rotary bending fatigue testing
machine was made and then analyzed the material. In the fatigue test equipment
that had been previously made at the Faculty of Engineering, Riau University, it
was observed that there were deficiencies or problems with the fatigue test
equipment. The methods used include literature studies, designing modifications to
fatigue testing machine test equipment, modification processes, testing fatigue
testing machine test equipment. This final project report also discusses the
production process including the machining and welding processes required in
fatigue modification. By modifying this fatigue test equipment, the highest
percentage of technical drawing error with the product was 2.2% in the frame
section and the lowest was 0% in the shaft length and after the modifications were
made, we obtained vibration results which in the previous fatigue test equipment
detected vibrations with amplitude. 62.7 volts and after modification the vibration
has an amplitude of 14.14 volts. By modifying this fatigue test tool on the three
modified shafts, it is safe to use for fatigue testing with a maximum load of ≤47 kg
with a motor rotation of 973 rpm. It is hoped that this test tool can be used to test
material fatigue.
