ANALISIS DAN PERANCANGAN ULANG TATA LETAK FASILITAS FABRIKASI PADA PT. DELIMA INTI PERKASA MENGGUNAKAN METODE SYSTEMATIC LAYOUT PLANNING

PT Delima Inti Perkasa (DIP) is a company engaged in the manufacture of
conveyors. This company has a workshop that is used as a place to produce
conveyors, conveyors in a palm oil mill are many types that are produced in the
workshop but only differ in size. In the production process there is backtracking
which causes the production process distance to be long. The purpose of this study
is to analyze the total distance of material handling movements in the actual layout,
produce a new layout using systematic layout planning and blocplan software,
calculate the distance of the production process and material handling costs on
alternative layouts, and determine the layout that minimizes material handling
costs. Material handling is one type of transportation carried out in industrial
companies, which aims to move raw materials, semi-finished goods, or finished
goods from one location to another predetermined location using material handling
equipment in the form of a head crane. In the calculation results show that the
material handling costs incurred are Rp. 107.93 per meter. This study uses the
Systematic Layout Planning method and blocplan software to propose a new layout.
Furthermore, a comparison is made between the company's initial layout with 4
alternatives that have been made using the activity relationship diagram (ARD) and
blocplan before. Based on the total material handling cost table, the selected
proposed layout is obtained where the initial layout material handling cost per
month is Rp. 262,917.48 and compared to the alternative layout blocplan 2 has a
material handling cost per month of Rp. 100,677.10 comparison of the company's
initial layout and alternative layout blocplan 2 is Rp. 162,240.38 with the largest
percentage reduction in material handling costs of 61.7%.
