OPTIMASI TATA LETAK PABRIK MENGGUNAKAN METODE SYSTEMATIC LAYOUT PLANNING DI PT. SEJAHTERA MANDIRI PEKANBARU

PT. Sejahtera Mandiri Pekanbaru is a company engaged in fabrication,
bodywork, and steel construction services, located at Jl. Raya Pekanbaru -
Bangkinang KM 16. The company is particularly renowned for manufacturing
truck beds and tanks. However, its production costs are quite high, prompting the
company to optimize its layout. Layout efficiency is crucial as material handling
costs are heavily influenced by the smooth flow of raw materials and factory
layout. Factory layout serves as the main foundation for organizing production
areas, facilitating smooth material flow, ensuring safe working conditions, and
optimizing space efficiency. In the initial layout, the company had a considerable
material transfer distance of 324.3 meters, with material handling costs
amounting to Rp. 318,455.906 and inefficient production processes. By
determining alternative layouts using blocplan, alternative layout 2 was chosen,
reducing the distance by 91.6 meters. This led to a reduction in material handling
costs by Rp. 74,966.406 and increased efficiency by 28.24%. This significantly
improved productivity, operational efficiency, and production output for the
company.
