STUDI EKSPERIMENTAL PENGARUH TEKANAN REFRIGERAN HIGH TEMPERATURE CYCLE DAN LAJU ALIRAN UDARA PADA EVAPORATOR LOW TEMPERATURE CYCLE TERHADAP UNJUK KERJA AIR BLAST FREEZER
The demand for fresh seafood products will continue to increase year by year due
to rapid population growth. Therefore, the availability of fresh seafood products
has become a significant issue. In activities to supply fresh seafood products
through export, there are challenges caused by spoilage due to microorganisms.
One way to overcome this spoilage is through cooling methods such as cold storage
and air blast freezing. Air blast freezing is a rapid freezing technique that can
inhibit the growth of microorganisms by freezing without forming solid ice crystals
that can damage seafood products. When discussing air blast freezers, it cannot be
separated from the refrigerants, which are working fluids. One of the
environmentally friendly refrigerants with low GWP and ODP is R290 and R32.
Therefore, it is necessary to conduct calculations to obtain the performance of air
blast freezers using refrigerants R290 and R32. Experiments were conducted with
variations in refrigerant pressure at 12 Bar, 13 Bar, and 14 Bar, followed by
variations in airflow rates of 3.1 m/s, 3.2 m/s, and 3.3 m/s. The tests showed the
highest COP at 14 Bar pressure with an airflow rate of 3.3 m/s, which was 1.344.
The fastest freezing time was at 12 Bar pressure with an airflow rate of 3.3 m/s,
reaching -30 ℃ in 165 minutes.
