STUDI COMPUTATIONAL THERMAL AND AIR FLOW DISTRIBUTION PADA PROSES PENDINGINAN ALAT AIR BLAST FREEZING
This study aims to address the limitations of experimental research by
analyzing thermal distribution and airflow in an Air Blast Freezer using
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations. The Air Blast Freezer is used
to accelerate the freezing process through rapid airflow. Simulations were
conducted with varying air velocities from 3.1 m/s to 3.3 m/s and a freezing duration
of 6 hours. The simulation results indicate that an optimal air velocity of 3.2 m/s
can achieve a temperature of -18°C with uniform temperature distribution and a
temperature standard deviation of 1.2°C, which is better than lower velocities. The
conclusion of this study is that optimal air velocity improves the efficiency of the
freezing process, and CFD simulations are effective tools for optimizing the design
of freezing systems of shrimps
