ANALISIS PENERAPAN METODE SYSTEMATIC LAYOUT PLANNING (SLP) UNTUK MEMINIMALISIR ONGKOS MATERIAL HANDLING (STUDI KASUS : CV. SISPRA JAYA LOGAM)

CV. Sispra Jaya Logam is a company engaged in metal casting and machining,
producing items according to customer orders. In a manufacturing company, the
production process is one of the important parts related to the output to be
produced. Therefore, the company must identify value added and non value added
activities to create an effective production process. Systematic layout planning is
one method used in the arrangement of factory facilities. This method can solve
various problems, including production, warehousing, transportation, support,
assembly, and other activities. Material handling is one type of transportation
carried out within the company, meaning moving raw materials, semi-finished
goods, or finished goods from the place of origin to the destination. Material
transfer in this case refers to finding the best way to move materials from one
production area to another. In the initial layout, the company had an initial
material transfer distance of 283.57 meters and a material handling cost of Rp.
117,934.81/meter. Using blocplan to determine alternative layouts, an alternative
layout with a material handling cost of Rp. 117,843/meter was obtained for layout
alternative 1, a reduction of 0.008% from the initial layout. Layout alternative 2
had a cost of Rp. 84,417/meter, a reduction of 28.42% from the initial layout,
while layout alternative 3 had a cost of Rp. 117,863/meter, a reduction of 0.007%
from the initial layout. Based on the calculated results, we use layout alternative 2
with a material handling cost of Rp. 84,417/meter, achieving a reduction of
28.42% from the company's initial layout.
